আপনারা অনেকেই হয়তো জানেন যে, দীর্ঘদিন কান্সারের সাথে যুদ্ধ করে গত মাসের ২৭ তারিখে আমাদের মজিলা কমিউনিটির প্রিয়মুখ Gervase Markham মারা গিয়েছেন।

গারভ মজিলা কমিউনিটির শুরুর দিকের একজন মেম্বার এবং মজিলার অনেক পজিশনে বিভিন্ন কাজে তার অবদান আছে। বাংলাদেশ মজিলা কমিউনিটির অনেকেই গারভ এর সাথে কাজ করেছেন। গারভের সাথে আমার প্রথম দেখা ২০১১ সালের অক্টোবরে, বনানীর বুমারস এ, সাথে ছিল রাহিদ ও এনজাম। রাহিদও আমাদের ছেড়ে চলে গিয়েছেন।

গারভ অনেক বিষয়ে বিভিন্ন সময়ে আমাকে এবং বাংলাদেশ কমিউনিটির সাহায্য করেছেন, এজন্য তাকে আন্তরিকভাবে স্মরন করছি। মিচেল বেকার গারভকে নিয়ে একটি ব্লগ পোস্ট লিখেছেন, সময় পেলে পড়ে দেখতে পারেন।

গত পরশুদিন কাজে গুলশানের ৫টি ব্যাংকের ৭টি শাখায় গিয়েছিলাম। তার একটি অভিজ্ঞতা লিখছি।

[নাম উল্লেখ করছি না] একটি ব্যাংকের গুলশান শাখায় ঢুকতেই হেল্পডেস্কে এক তরুণী বসে আছে। আমাদের কথোপকথন -

আমিঃ আপনাদের শাখায় কি ইজিপি টেন্ডারের টাকা জমা নেয়া হয়?
[আমার কথা শেষ না হতেই] হেল্পডেস্কঃ না, আমাদের এখানে এসব নেয়া হয় না।
আমার মনে হলো উনি আমার কথা পরিষ্কার না শুনেই উত্তর দিয়েছেন।
আমিঃ আপনি কি কাইন্ডলি বলবেন, আমি কি জমা দিতে এসেছি, আর কি আপনাদের এখানে নেয়া হয় না।
হেল্পডেস্কঃ আপনি যা জমা দিতে চাইছেন, তা এখানে নেয়া হয় না।
আমিঃ আমি কি জমা দিতে চাইছি।
হেল্পডেস্কঃ আপনি আবার একি প্রস্ন করছেন।

উনি বলতে পারেননি আসলে আমি আমি কি জমা দিতে এসেছিলাম। যোগাযোগ (Communication) এর জন্য পরিষ্কার ভাবে বলা যেমন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তেমনি শোনাও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। আমরা অনেকেই বলতে পছন্দ করি, শুনতে মনোযোগ দেই না

আজকের মজার অভিজ্ঞতা। আজ এক পুরনো ক্লাইন্ট তাদের নতুন অফিসে দেখা করতে বলেন। আমি ঠিকানা খুজে, বিল্ডিংয়ের নিচে দারোয়ানকে বললাম, চারতলায় অমুক অফিসে যাবো। দারোয়ান আমাকে লিফট দেখিয়ে বলল, জুতা খুলে লিফটে উঠেন। আমি প্রথমে ভাবলাম ভুল শুনেছি, আবার জিজ্ঞেস করতেই জানতে পারলাম, পুরো বিল্ডিংয়ের কোন অফিস / বাসা/ ফ্ল্যাটে যেতে হলে জুতা বিল্ডিংয়ের নিচেই খুলতে হবে। জীবনে এই প্রথম বিল্ডিংয়ের নিচ থেকে খালি পায়ে লিফটে উঠে চারতলায় ক্লাইন্টের অফিসে দেখা করলাম। সিঁড়ি / লিফট সব পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন দেখলাম। আসলেই পরিচ্ছন্নতার শুরু নিজ থেকেই।

"Kabbo" is the first Bengali poem apps in Firefox Marketplace.

For the last couple of months, i was working on some Firefox OS apps ideas. After analysis, I feel the shortage of Bengali literature based apps in Firefox Marketplace. So i engaged myself for developing "Kabbo", a collection of 100+ Bengali poems apps. This December the apps published in Firefox marketplace. Initially there are some basic features like platform independent, offline usability, compatible in all Firefox, poem search option and so on.

কাব্য" এপ্লিকেশনটি বাংলা ছড়া ও কবিতা সংকলন করার একটা ছোট উদ্যোগ। ফায়ারফক্স ওএস ব্যবহারকারীদের বাংলা কাব্য চর্চাকে উৎসাহিত করার জন্য মূলত এ উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে।

In this version added 9 poems of Satyendranath Dutta, 5 poems of Jogindranath Sarkar, 50 poems of Sukumar Ray, 4 poems of Jatindramohan Bagchi, 24 poems of Rabindranath Tagore and 10 unsorted poems.


Now based on the feedback from the users, working on the next version update of the apps.

13th Dec 2014 evening i with two mozillians do some Firefox OS apps idea adda, a unplanned meeting in my home. One of them is Masud Parveg, play guitar as a hobby and wants to do a guitar related apps. Other Mozillian is Nazmul Huda Shojib , passionate traveler and wants to volunteer for Travel related apps. We were online and try to share our details via etherpad https://bangladesh.etherpad.mozilla.org/129 we would love to have more ideas about apps development.

Mozilla Reps Camp is a yearly meeting of the Council members and Reps mentors for discussion of different topics, review our status and as well as planning for upcoming year.

This year the Camp city was Madrid, Spain, from 30th August to 1st September, 2013 and the theme of the Camp - Building Communities

I applied for the Schengen Visa and lately received the visa approval after some complications. As i am the only attendee from Bangladesh for the ReMo camp, i started my journey for the camp from Dhaka - Istanbul - Madrid. Mozilla booked my flight with TURKISH AIRLINES. The flight was good.

I meet with Alfredos Panagiotis Damkalis aka fredy at the Istanbul Airport. We ride the same flight from Istanbul to Madrid. From the Airport we decided to take the metro. After going the halfway we have to reroute our way to the Hotel, because of a line was closed for construction. Lastly reached the Radisson Blu Hotel Madrid Prado. I shared room with my mentor Vineel from India.

This camp reminds me of my previous attended Mozilla Reps Camp 2012, Berlin. This year many faces were missing from the previous camp but meet some new mozillians (face to face) for the first time.

We all wear special cool yellow vests during most of our sessions in Hub Madrid.


Thrilling camp days passed  with brainstorming, jotting ideas, action plans and so on... We do swot analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats), also divided into groups and discussed about different scheduled topics.

Our last day late night wandering in the Madrid's street was very very interesting :)


Madrid is one of the best location in the world for Fine Arts. As a great art lover i didn't miss the chance from our busy schedule to visit the Museo Reina Sofía (Spain's national museum of 20th century art) to see the famous masterpiece - "Guernica" by Pablo Picasso. i did explore some floors of the museum with some of my fellow mozillians but not much for time shortage.
